Rules and FAQ

What is this Board?

This board is a listing of Bounties and Temp jobs that characters are able to take in [community profile] genessia. The jobs range from hunting down a person to working a front desk as a receptionist at a business to janitorial work.

Registering With The Beacon Board

A character can register with the Beacon Board. How do they do it and what does it exactly mean? Well, to do it you go to the Employment Board and sign up for it like you would any other job. (Contact [personal profile] monkeystowaway before doing this.)

Registering with the board guarantees your character a certain level payment every month. Think of it this way, by registering prospective employers can view their information and request them specifically if they want (This won’t be done ICly, but it will be handwaved). They build a reputation and get more and more jobs, even if you don't actively submit a form for them to get one. They can still take a job or bounty as they would normally.

When you register, there are three levels.

Basic: The level everyone starts out at. You get a 1 * payment for being at this level.

Gold
:
After your character has completed 5 jobs, they can get an upgrade to this level. They get a 2 * payment for being at this level.

Elite
:
After your character has completed 10 jobs while being at the Gold Status level, they can upgrade to this level. They receive a 3 * payment for being at this level.

Do I have to be registered with the board to take jobs?

No you do not! The jobs are open to mostly anyone that wants to take them.

Do I have to play them out? If so, how do I do it?

Not completely. The Temp jobs don’t need to be played out at all. The bounties, however, function under the same rule as the one listed in the paper. What that means is after taking 3 bounties, a person needs to play out at least 1 bounty log before they are allowed to handwave another three. A player ould honestly play out every single one that they take if they wanted to.

How many Bounties and Temp jobs can I take?

One bounty a week, at least from the Bounty Board. I think that is fair, just to give other players a chance to take one too if they really want. Most temp jobs will last for about that long unless stated otherwise.

What does the * mean?

This was explained by the mods in a post. Check here for it. A further breakdown on the money can also be found here.

How do I keep track of how many bounties I have done and my bonuses?

The mods have a Bounty Tracker here.

How does this all work?

ICly, characters can approach a bounty board in any city to get information on the current bounty listings. The board has a built in A.I. that will speak with the characters if they address the board directly, though the board can be used simply by touching and scrolling too.

To accept a bounty, the character will need to give their name. This is just so it can keep track of who completed what bounty or temp job and everything. When the character has accepted a bounty or job, it will give them the location or contact information of the person that posted it so they can get in touch with them.

OOCly, you just have to fill out the little form on the bounty board and post it in a comment.

What's up with the color coding on the Bounties board?
I did this to make it easier to differentiate what is what.

Black texted postings on the board is a Temp Job.

Red
texted postings on the board are bounties that a character can take.

If for whatever reason any other type of bounty or job is posted, it will be in
Green
and will probably contain special information.

Are the boards run by in-game NPCS?

Nope! The boards were bought and put up by Sun Wukong. He obtained the money from Weiss Schnee to do it. There is even a little "Sponsored by Schnee Co." thing on the bottom of the board. During his time in game, he has made a lot of connections and he does a lot of Bounty Hunting so he thought it would be a good idea to put up these sort of boards so more people can take on jobs.

He himself receives a small fee for each bounty placed just so he gets something out of it. The bounties themselves are placed by NPCs. Though players can place them as well either ICly or OOCly.
